Tired youth falls asleep in car listening to music; locals wake him up

KOTTAYAM: A young driver fell asleep in his car after listening to the music in the middle of the road, causing a major traffic jam. The incident happened near the Athirampuzha Palli Junction in Kottayam. The video of the incident is now going viral on social media.

Feeling tired while driving, the youth stopped his car in the middle of the road and went to sleep. Loud music was playing inside the vehicle. As a result, several vehicles, including a KSRTC bus, got stuck in traffic. When motorists and local residents checked what was happening, they found him asleep in the driver’s seat.

They tried several times to wake him up by calling out to him, but their attempts were unsuccessful. Eventually, locals shook the car to wake the driver. The video shows the youth waking up suddenly and looking around in confusion.

After the video went viral on social media, many people criticised the driver. There have also been calls for the Motor Vehicles Department to take strict action against such behaviour, which poses a serious threat to road safety.
