THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More evidence of collusion involving the public prosecutor emerged in the ED attack case. The evidence indicates that the public prosecutor argued in court contrary to the police report. These things became clear when a copy of the police report was released.

The District Principal Sessions Court granted bail to Harish Kumar, the ninth accused in the ED attack case, the other day. This is the first time that an accused in the case was granted bail. During the argument, the prosecution informed the court that the investigation is almost complete and that the accused need not be in custody. The court granted bail, considering this argument.

The investigating officer, Museum CI, had submitted a report to the court opposing the bail. Interestingly, the public prosecutor informed the court that the accused need not be in custody. After the accused was granted bail, the investigation team wrote to the city police commissioner demanding the change of the public prosecutor.

Meanwhile, the public prosecutor's office responded that the police report reached the court at the last minute. Geenakumari also said that the police have not clarified what stance they will take in the case. However, it is clear that the police report, which outlines 13 reasons to deny bail, was submitted to the court on the 18th of this month. There is also criticism that Geenakumari was unwilling to communicate with the investigating officers even after the report was submitted a week before.
