THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The crime branch has found serious lapses from the side of the officials in PSC examination and appointments. The special investigation team (SIT) has found lapses from the side of two officials in charge of the evaluation proceedings. The crime branch has recommended departmental action against these officials. The SIT has also found that despite finding lapses on the part of the officials, the PSC failed to take action against them.
The SIT has recommended action against former deputy secretary Satheesh and additional secretary Hari. A letter has been submitted to the government through the DGP regarding the matter. The government will forward the letter to the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC).
The crime branch has found that the failure to evaluate nine questions in the examination was due to the negligence of these officials. However, the officials explained that the questions were not evaluated because of a technical error.
An investigation is also underway to find whether there was a criminal conspiracy in the matter.
