Two women take on auto driver in Bengaluru roadside brawl; video goes viral

BENGALURU: A heated argument over an auto-rickshaw fare in Bengaluru took a wild turn when two women and the driver ended up fighting in the middle of the road. A video showing the dramatic showdown has now gone viral on social media. The incident took place on Monday afternoon in the Third Sector of HSR Layout.

In the video, the two women can be seen arguing with the auto driver before the heated exchange escalates into a physical fight. At one point, another woman steps in and tries to break up the clash and calm everyone down.
But there appears to be more to the fare dispute than the viral clip shows. According to HSR Layout police, the women had allegedly booked and cancelled the auto ride multiple times before booking it again. An argument over the fare then broke out and soon turned physical.

The video, reportedly recorded by a passer-by, quickly made its way across social media, prompting a flood of reactions. Several users questioned what exactly triggered the confrontation and called for police action.

Police initially contacted the women after coming across the viral footage. One of them later approached the police and filed a complaint against the driver. Based on her complaint, police registered an FIR and took the auto driver into custody for questioning, according to HSR Layout police.

The video captures the fight itself, but does not establish who started the physical confrontation or exactly what happened immediately before the cameras began rolling. Further investigation is underway.
