
THIRUVANNATHAPURAM: As discussions for the formation of a new government in the state are in full swing, the Kerala Congress Joseph faction insisted on its demand for two ministerial berths. The party is moving to strongly raise this demand in the front after High Command selected VD Satheesan as the Chief Minister. A final agreement was reached in this regard at a meeting of party MLAs held in Thiruvananthapuram today.
The leadership suggested that the party be given due consideration for the great victory achieved in the elections. Party chairman P.J. Joseph and designated MLA from Thodupuzha Apu John Joseph clarified that they, with seven MLAs, are entitled to two ministerial posts.
All seven MLAs of the party attended the meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram today. The bargaining for the ministerial post will take place with their unanimous support. The meeting demanded that the Kerala Congress be given due representation in the cabinet when the new chief minister takes oath. The Joseph faction argues that they should be considered an important party at the front.
