South Indian cinema’s beloved voice and talent, Raveena Ravi, has officially tied the knot with director Devan Jayakumar. The private ceremony, which took place in an intimate setting, marks a significant milestone for the actress-dubbing artist and the Valatty filmmaker.

The news was shared by Raveena’s mother, the legendary dubbing artist Sreeja Ravi, through an emotional social media post that captured both the joy of the union and the poignant absence of her late husband.

The wedding was a private affair, attended only by immediate family and close friends. Sreeja Ravi revealed that while they had once dreamed of a grand celebration involving the entire film fraternity to mark her 50-year journey in cinema, the family chose a low-key event due to emotional reasons.

This is the first major family milestone since the passing of Raveena’s father, Ravindranath, in August 2021. Sreeja expressed her vulnerability in the post, stating:

"Celebrating such a special occasion without my beloved husband Raviyettan left me deeply overwhelmed. I truly did not have the strength—emotionally or physically—to organize anything elaborate."

The marriage unites two families with deep roots in the industry. Devan’s father, Jayan Mulangad, is a noted producer and director in Malayalam cinema. His mother, Kala Jayan, is a retired professor from SD College, Alappuzha. Devan’s sister, Devi Jayan, is a psychologist based in the USA, where the family is currently settled.

Sreeja welcomed Devan into the family, noting that she is happy to have gained a "loving son and a warm family."

Raveena Ravi is a household name across South Indian languages. Her journey began as a child artist, dubbing for the Mohanlal starrer Vanaprastham. Since then, she has lent her voice to numerous lead actresses in films like FIR, Dubai, and recently Valatty.

Beyond the dubbing booth, Raveena has proven her mettle as an actress across different languages. In Tamil, she earned significant acclaim for her role in the hard-hitting film Maamannan, while in Malayalam, she showcased her talent through engaging performances in films such as Nithyaharitha Nayakan and Azadi.

Fans and well-wishers will be delighted to know that Raveena has no plans to step away from the limelight. Sreeja Ravi shared that one of her biggest joys as a mother is knowing that Raveena’s new family fully supports and encourages her to continue her passion for both acting and dubbing.

Sreeja concluded her message by seeking blessings for the newlyweds and offering a sincere apology to friends and colleagues whom she couldn't personally invite due to the short notice and emotional circumstances.
