THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state leader M V Govindan reiterated that the LDF will return to power again. With only hours left for the counting of votes for the assembly elections, M V Govindan said exit polls indicate that the LDF could secure between 60 and 69 seats. Need only two seats for a simple majority, and there is every chance of crossing that mark, he said.
‘The results would be crucial in Kerala’s political history and expressed confidence that the LDF would win with a comfortable margin and form the government for a third consecutive term. According to him, a close reading of exit poll trends points toward an LDF victory. Those who announced a 100-plus seat campaign have backed out. Exit polls have said that the LDF will get 60-69 seats. Then needs only two more. There is a possibility of getting more than that.
Criticizing the UDF, he alleged that internal conflicts have already begun within the Congress over the chief minister’s post and would soon extend to ministerial posts. The UDF are not capable of governing Kerala. Even voters who supported them are now regretting their decision after seeing the infighting. He also asserted that there is no significant anti-incumbency sentiment, as reflected in exit poll results. The BJP will not get any seats, and claimed that constituencies like Nemom, Kazhakkoottam, and Vattiyoorkavu would be won by the LDF’.
