NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court refused to intervene in the plea seeking cancellation of the anticipatory bail of Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil in the first rape case. The Supreme Court also removed the adverse remarks against the complainant.

The complainant in the first rape case approached the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the anticipatory bail granted to Rahul by the high court. There was no detailed hearing on the plea. The bench comprising Justices M M Sundaresh and N K Singh made it clear that they were not interested in interfering with the high court's verdict.

The Supreme Court removed the adverse remarks from the high court verdict after the lawyers informed that they were detrimental to the complainant. Senior advocates P V Dinesan and K R Subhash Chandran appeared for the complainant.
