S Sreejith replaces Ajith Kumar as chief police coordinator for Sabarimala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ADGP M R Ajith Kumar has been removed from the chief police coordinator post for Sabarimala. ADGP at police headquarters S Sreejith is the new coordinator. The chief police coordinator is in charge of the security arrangements in and around Sabarimala.

Ajith Kumar was kept away from the Sabarimala review meeting held earlier. Sreejith had served the same post earlier. Based on this, he was again appointed to the post of the coordinator. Ajith was earlier removed from the charge of law and order following the report of DGP Sheikh Darvesh Sahib.

Serious allegations like meeting RSS leaders and messing up Thrissur Pooram were raised against Ajith Kumar. Apart from P V Anwar, who was left MLA, opposition leader V D Satheesan was the first to come forward with severe allegations. Apart from the opposition, the LDF constituents including the CPI also took a firm stand to replace Ajith.
