ALAPPUZHA: Police have taken into custody the father of the 10-year-old boy who chanted hate slogans during a Popular Front rally in Alappuzha. Police nabbed Askar Ali from his house at Palluruthy in Kochi. Askar, a Popular Front activist, will be soon brought to Alappuzha. The police team from Alappuzha has also reached Kochi.
The boy and his parents had gone missing soon after the police registered a case in connection with the hate slogan incident. The parents explained that they were on a tour and came to know about the case during the tour. Meanwhile, Popular Front activists staged a protest against the police for taking Askar into custody. The police had earlier arrested several others in connection with the incident.
