Actor Unni Mukundan responded to the incident over popular restaurant chains using posters deemed distasteful towards a particular religion. A restaurant owner from Cherthala was arrested over a Vishu poster he uploaded on social media depicting Lord Krishna savouring the Yemeni dish Kuzhi Manthi.
Unni Mukundan:
“There is a limit to everything!
Please learn to respect the emotions of the ppl who r believers. Complete disgust
The reason I don't take such B*llsh*t is cos, every time you stay silent, such heinous acts tends to look normal. To everyone who's trying to teach me to take all this lightly, I request you to stay back. I'm not your regular movie guy who is ok with jokes made on my beliefs. Since I respect every religious sentiment, YOU HAVE TO RESPECT MINE ALSO. Stay secular in all manners.”
The owner of the hotel 'Mehr' in Cherthala was arrested over the Vishu poster incident, after many Hindu outfits took to the streets in protest. The issue sparked major protests across the state while police registered a case over complaints from many about hurting religious sentiments.
