"I have made mistakes, and I have absolutely nothing to hide," Meera Vasudevan stated with a level of raw honesty that has set the industry abuzz this March. In a wide-ranging exclusive interview with Movie World Media, the actress chose to finally address the headlines surrounding her recent divorce and her complex relationship history, confirming she has been officially single since August 2025.
Meera didn't shy away from the timeline of her personal life, which has seen three marriages. Her first, to Vishal Agarwal in 2005, lasted five years before ending in 2010. She later found love with actor John Kokken in 2012—a marriage that gave her a son, Ariha, but ultimately ended in 2016. Most recently, she revealed the quiet conclusion of her one-year marriage to cinematographer Vipin Puthiyankam, whom she met on the sets of the hit serial Kudumbavilakku. "The reason I’m being so public about being single now is simple: I want to stop the misinformation. I want people to hear the truth from me so there’s no room for negative rumors or sensationalized videos," she explained.
Reflecting on her past, Meera spoke like a veteran who has weathered every storm. "All those failures, the moments of rejection and despair—they didn't break me. They made me a better technician and a better communicator. I’ve learned that when you aren’t comfortable in a space, you shouldn't have to seek everyone else's opinion to justify leaving it." She described her current state as her "most wonderful and peaceful phase," crediting her parents and her young son for helping her navigate these transitions. "Children are incredibly intelligent," she added with a smile. "Sometimes my son listens to me talking and comes up with better solutions than the adults do."
The conversation also took a nostalgic turn as she cleared the air about her debut in Thanmathra. She expressed deep gratitude for Mohanlal’s professionalism during their famous intimate scene, revealing he personally apologised to ensure her comfort. However, she was firm about her boundaries today, expressing frustration over how those scenes are still "misappropriated" by trolls. Celebrating 25 years in the industry, Meera’s message was one of ultimate self-reliance: "I’m happy, I’m busy, and I’m finally living life on my own terms. I’ve embraced that everything happens for a reason."
