Official holiday announcements: Oman and Kuwait declare extended Eid al-Fitr breaks

MUSCAT: As the holy month of Ramadan approaches its conclusion, the spirit of anticipation is building across the Gulf. In a series of welcome announcements, several nations have officially confirmed holiday schedules for Eid al-Fitr, providing residents and employees with an extended opportunity for rest and celebration.

The Sultanate of Oman has officially declared a public holiday for employees in both the public and private sectors. To ensure a cohesive celebration across the nation, the break is scheduled to commence on Thursday, March 19 (Ramadan 29, 1447 AH).

With official duties set to resume on Tuesday, March 24, the five-day period offers a significant opportunity for citizens and expatriates to reunite with families and engage in traditional festivities. Authorities have noted that the specific start of the Eid festivities remains subject to the official moon-sighting announcement at the end of the month.

Joining the festive preparations, the Kuwaiti Council of Ministers has also announced its official holiday period. The public sector will observe a break from Thursday, March 19, through Monday, March 23.
