Comeback complete! Nivin Pauly elated as 'Sarvam Maya' enters 100 crore club in just ten days

Actor Nivin Pauly had a few turbulent years trying to set his career back on track, but to little success. Setbacks followed as even projects done with great hopes failed to hit the right chord among people. Many deemed it was over for the actor until Akhil Sathyan’s new movie ‘Sarvam Maya’ was released. As per tracking websites, the movie has surpassed the global box office collection of Rs 100 crore in just ten days, a first in Nivin’s career.

The movie amassed Rs 53 crore from the Indian market, while the overseas market collection is Rs 47 crore. This is the fifth Malayalam movie to join the celebrated 100 crore club.

‘Sarvam Maya’, which experimented with the untapped humour comedy genre, could not have had a conducive season for release. The Christmas holidays were ongoing, and unusually, new releases were scant this season. This factor, along with the great word-of-mouth publicity for the film, ensured it was ‘Sarvam Maya’ who would be the winner of this year’s Christmas season.

This movie is touted as Nivin Pauly’s return to stardom in Malayalam. The actor has been treading a tight rope in his career without a hit for the last ten years.
