Mullaperiyar: Strength test completed

KUMILY: The underwater ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) test, which is crucial for the strength test of the Mullaperiyar dam, has been completed. It is reported that the test found very important information about the dam. This will be evaluated in detail by technical experts from CSMRS and submitted to a seven-member high-powered committee.

The inspection of the dam began on the 23rd of this month under the leadership of a team of experts. The inspection was led by experts from the Central Soil Materials Research Station (CSMRS) in Delhi, P Senthil, Vijay, Dr. Jale Linga Swamy and Deepak Kumar Sharma.

Technical experts from Kerala and Tamil Nadu also arrived to assess the six-day inspection. The ROV was lowered into the water of the dam from a Tamil Nadu boat, where the inspections were recorded on a computer and images were collected.
