16-year-old girl who left home after dispute drugged and sexually abused, dropped off after being given Rs 4000; accused arrested

KOZHIKODE: Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident where a 16-year-old girl was drugged and sexually assaulted. The victim is a girl from Perinthalmanna. The arrested people have been identified as Shameem and Rayees, both natives of Koduvally.

The incident took place on December 20. The girl had left home after an argument with her parents. She boarded a bus from Perinthalmanna and reached Kozhikode Beach. At around 2 am the next day, the accused found her at the beach. They then took her to a flat after promising to provide food and accommodation. Two other persons who were present there allegedly gave the girl drugs.

After the incident, the accused reportedly gave her Rs 4,000 and dropped her back at Kozhikode Beach by afternoon. In the meantime, the girl’s family had filed a missing complaint with the Perinthalmanna police. During the investigation, the police located the girl at the beach. Two other accused in the case are currently absconding.
