'Nobody turns down Dhanush movie'; Actress Manya raises shocking allegations of casting couch

CHENNAI: Actress Manya Anand dropped a shocking accusation of casting couch directed at Dhanush's manager. Manya alleged facing a casting couch from Dhanush's manager Shreyas, as she said the latter offered her a role in Dhanush’s new movie if she complied with the demands. Manya Anand made the allegation in an interview given to a YouTube channel.

Manya said it was not just her, but other actors were also summoned for an audition by Shreyas. Manya said she confronted Shreyas when he asked for ‘adjustments’ and stomped out of the meeting room after informing Shreyas of her decision not to act in the movie.

According to Manya, Shreyas sent her the script of the film and continued to offer her more such offers, although she entertained none of them. Shreyas is accused of even sending the actress the location information of Dhanush's production house, Wunderbar Films. The actress said he expressed surprise at the fact that she denied his offer despite this being a Dhanush movie.

"As artists, they should only expect professional work from us. They better not demand anything else. If we comply, we will be called by other names. I think it would be good if people recognise such practices and address them," Manya added. Meanwhile, neither Dhanush nor his manager has yet responded to the allegations.
