Kalyani Priyadarshan and Krithi Shetty sizzle with belly dance: first single 'Abdi Abdi' from Genie out

The first single from Actor Ravi Mohan's upcoming film Genie is out. The sizzling dance number, 'Abdi Abdi' stars Kriti Shetty and Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female leads. The costumes and choreography perfectly suit the mood and setting of the song. Kriti Shetty and Kalyani Priyadarshini trained intensely for this song to perform the belly dance moves with ease. Although the movie is names 'Genie', the song does not portray Ravi Mohan as a typical Genie who grants wishes. Rather, he is seen dancing with the female leads like he is the one giving orders, or even controlling them at some point. The song concludes with 'Genie' making Kalyani Priyadarshan and Krithi Shetty levitate in the air and ending with the movie title itself.


Composed by A.R. Rahman, the song is written by Mashoq Rahman, sung by Maysaa Karaa and Deepthi Suresh, and also features a rap song from Freak. This is the fourth collaboration of Rahman and Ravi Mohan after Ponniyin Selvan, Ponniyin Selvan 2, and Kadhalikka Neramillai.

Genie is directed by Arjunan Jr and produced by Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International. Cinematography is by Ananda Vikatan award winner Mahesh Muthuswami, while Pradeep E Ragav is in charge of editing. When Mayapandi V is in charge of art, the stunts are directed by Yannick Ben.
