Resort manager under treatment for serious injuries sustained after dog jumps across bike, dies

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A resort manager died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital for injuries sustained in the accident that happened after a dog jumped across. The dead has been identified as A Jose (60) of Kottukal Punnavila. He sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The accident happened on September 27. A dog jumped across his bike in Punnavila when he was coming home. Jose, who sustained serious injuries on his head, died early Thursday morning. He was the manager of a private resort in Pulinkudi. He will be laid to rest this evening at the cemetery of Fathima Matha Church in Adimalathura.

He leaves behind his wife Mariya and children Rini and Rithu. The Vizhinjam police have registered a case in the incident.

Locals said the menace of stray dogs is rampant in the area. Many vehicles have met with similar accidents earlier also. Still, the authorities did not take any action. Locals also said that since there is a school nearby, the stray dogs that gather in groups pose a threat to students as well.
