Kalyani Priyadarshan's film 'Lokah - Chapter One: Chandra' is the new industrial hit of Malayalam. The film has made history by earning a global collection of Rs 267 crore. In just 24 days of its release, Lokah has become the all-time record global grosser in Malayalam. This is the first time in the history of South Indian cinema that a film with a female lead in the title role has earned the highest global collection.
Lokah has surpassed Empuraan, the biggest hit in Malayalam in 2025. Empuraan's global collection is 266 crores. Lokah is the second Malayalam film to collect Rs 150 crores from India alone. It is also the second Malayalam film to collect Rs 100 crores from Kerala alone. The film also set an all-time record on BookMyShow. Lokah has the highest ticket sales for a Malayalam film through BookMyShow. Lokah's achievement surpasses Mohanlal's film 'Thudarum', which sold 4.51 lakh tickets.
Lokah is produced by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films. It is the first film in the five-part superhero cinematic universe. 'Lokah - Chapter One: Chandra' is inspired by the story of the famous urban legend of Kerala, Kalliyankattu Neeli. The film also has a large cast including Naslen, Chandu Salimkumar, Arun Kurian, Sarath Sabha, Nishant Sagar, and Vijayaraghavan.
