PATHANAMTHITTA: Rahul Mamkootathil MLA paid a visit to the Sabarimala Temple amidst the controversies. He sought the blessings of Lord Ayyappa when the temple opened at 5 am Thursday morning. He climbed the steps after filling the irumudi kettu from Pampa. Rahul reached Pampa at 10 pm last night. He visited the temple early this morning as the temple had closed last night.

The MLA, facing sexual allegations, was in the assembly on the first day of the session. However, he did not attend the session in the following days and cited personal issues. The MLA will become active in his constituency in the coming days and his visit to Sabarimala is part of it.

Rahul attending the session on the first day had surprised the opposition leader and the party leadership. They all had expected him to stay away from the session following the action taken by the party. As soon as he entered the house, he got a note from someone outside and he left immediately. The note was received after KPCC chief Sunny Joseph left and then entered the house. This created the impression that the leadership was dissatisfied with the presence of Rahul. However, Rahul later told media that he had not disobeyed anyone.
