Sabarimala: Navagraha temple consecration becomes holy sight

SABARIMALA: The consecration ceremony of the Navagraha temple built near the Malikappuram temple became a holy sight for the devotees. The consecration was held at 11.02 am in the Kannirasi Muhurtham. Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru and Malikappuram Melshanthi Vasudevan Namboothiri performed the main officiation.

Usha pooja was held in the morning at the Kalasamandapam. The consecration was followed by ceremonies including Marappāṇi (worship of a wooden drum). Then the Thazhikakudam of the Navagraha temple was also installed. Ashtabandha lepanam, Brahma Kalasabhishekam and Kumbhabhishekam were performed. After Prasanna Pooja, the ceremonies ended with Deeparadhana. Thousands of devotees witnessed the ceremonies.

Travancore Devaswom Board President Adv PS Prashanth, member Adv A Ajikumar, Devaswom Commissioner B Sunilkumar, and ADGP MR Ajithkumar also participated. Sabarimala temple nada closed at 10 pm. The temple will open in the evening on the 16th for Karkkadaka month pujas. It will close on the 21st. Then it will open on the 29th for the Niraputhari festival. Niraputhari is on the 30th.
