KOLKATA: Shocking turn of events in the case of a clinical psychologist being sexually assaulted in IIM boys hostel. The clinical psychologist's father said that she was not sexually assaulted. The father told the media that his daughter fell from an autorickshaw. The first information that came out was that a clinical psychologist was assaulted last night at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata. Mahaveer Toppannavar alias Parmanand Jain, a second-year graduate student, was arrested on her complaint. The father's response is the most recent update in the case.
The father said that his daughter fell from an autorickshaw at 9.34 pm on Friday and lost consciousness and she was admitted to the neurology department of SSKM Hospital. He also said that his daughter told him that there was no sexual assault. The girl was taken to the hospital by the police.
'I spoke to my daughter. She said that no one had molested or misbehaved with her. She has nothing to do with the arrested person. She is sleeping now. She had gone out to submit a document," the father said. When asked by a journalist if the woman was injured, her father replied that she was completely fine.
The complaint of the clinical psychologist states that she was called for a counselling session in the college hostel and was raped. She fell unconscious after drinking the drink given by the IIM student. The drink was laced with drugs. It was only when she regained consciousness that she realised that she had been raped, the victim's complaint states.
