THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 24-hour Bharat Bandh called by opposition trade unions, accusing the central government of adopting anti-worker policies, will begin at midnight on Wednesday. The ruling and opposition organizations in Kerala are going on strike separately. UDF organizations including INTUC will take this opportunity to protest against the state government too.

In this situation, let's examine which sectors will be affected and exempted from the strike.

Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar opined that KSRTC employees would not join the strike. However, with the unions putting their pressure on the minister, KSRTC is unlikely to function tomorrow. However, services to RCC and Medical College may not be affected. Moreover, since auto and taxi services will remain disrupted, people will have no choice but to use their own vehicles to go out if necessary.

Central and state government offices and collectorates will not work tomorrow. Bank services will also be disrupted. LIC and other insurance services will also not be available. School and college teachers are also part of the strike and for the same reason, most of the schools and colleges will remain shut. However, no official announcements in this regard have been made yet. Shops will remain completely closed. Malls may also not function.

Milk, newspapers, hospitals, medical stores, water supply and fire services will not be affected by the strike. Vehicles going to airports and railway stations, pre-arranged marriages and the tourism sector are exempted from the strike. Although restaurants will not operate, hotels with accommodation facilities will not be affected.
