ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that India is using the 'unfortunate' terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir to destabilise Pakistan's regional peace. Shehbaz Sharif was speaking at the Economic Cooperation Organization summit in Azerbaijan, one of the countries that supported Pakistan in Operation Sindoor. Shehbaz Sharif also slammed Israel for targeting innocent people in Gaza and Iran.
Shahbaz Sharif alleged that the unprovoked and reckless Indian hostility directed towards Pakistan after an unfortunate incident in Jammu and Kashmir was yet another attempt to destabilise regional peace. The attack on April 22 in the Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam killed 25 tourists and a local. It was one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in recent times.
The Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba's 'The Resistance Front ' (TRF) had claimed responsibility for the attack. This prompted India to launch a counter-offensive in Pakistan, dubbed Operation Sindoor. India destroyed nine terror camps in Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif also condemned Israel's recent airstrikes against Iran, saying Pakistan will stand firm against those who commit atrocities against innocent people anywhere in the world, whether in Gaza, Jammu and Kashmir, or Iran.
