KOCHI: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has informed the High Court that it has closed the investigation in all 34 cases related to the Hema Committee report. The investigation team informed the court that the investigation had to be closed because those who gave statements to the Hema Committee did not cooperate with the investigation.
The special investigation team informed that the condition had been created for the complainants to give their statements and that the investigation in all the cases mentioned in the Hema Committee report was being terminated in a situation where no one was ready to give their statements. The High Court's reply on the issue was that no one should be forced to give statements in such matters. However, the bench has also directed that the nodal agency should continue to function in case anyone has a complaint.
The High Court also said that the court's guidelines will remain in place until the new law is enacted. A conclave will be organized in early August as part of the formulation of the film policy. The draft for the formulation of the film policy will be prepared based on the suggestions that emerge from this. The court has also directed that the draft law be notified after it is prepared.
