LONDON: The greatness of Sree Narayana Guru Devan, Guru's one-world vision and the importance of Guru Devan's vision in the modern world were were discussed at the Sree Narayana Guru Harmony organized in the UK under the leadership of Sivagiri Mutt. Participants from various countries participated in the summit held for global peace, progress and prosperity.
Dr. Anne Wingenter, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Loyola University Chicago, presented a paper on the topic of ‘Global Impact of the Guru’s Philosophy’. NK Premachandran, MP, delivered a lecture on the topic of ‘Guru – Silent Architect of Kerala Social Renaissance’. Alex Gath, Retd. Prof., University of London, spoke on the topic of ‘Purposes of Pilgrimage’ and Dr. Sharanggadharan, Former UGC Emeritus Professor and Dean, Kerala University, spoke on the topic of ‘Sree Narayana Guru’s Economic Vision’.
Dr M V Natesan of Sree Shankaracharya Sanskrit University, Kalady, spoke on the topic ‘Guru’s Vision on Religious Diversity and Universality’ and Dr Suresh Kumar Madhusudhanan, Chairman, Seagull International Group, spoke on the topic ‘Strength through Organization – The Power of Collective Initiative’. Dr Siddique Ahmed, Chairman, Iram Holdings, spoke on the topic ‘Guru’s Vision on Sustainable Development’ and Dr Varun Radhakrishnan, CEO, Ambos Group, spoke on the topic ‘Where the Blessing of the Guru Meets the Peace of the Body’.
The global summit, hosted by Sivagiri Ashram UK and Sevanam UK, has made it possible to present the value of Gurudeva's philosophy and teachings to the world. Baiju Palakal, Chairman of Sevanam UK and President of Sivagiri Ashram UK, said there will be more focus on the work of transforming UK Sivagiri Ashram into a global centre for the study of Gurudeva's philosophy.
