Shop owner thrashes 10-year-old boy for stealing biscuits of Rs 2

LUCKNOW: A 10-year-old boy was beaten brutally the whole night for stealing biscuits worth Rs 2. The incident happened at Shravasti in Uttar Pradesh. The video of it had gone viral.

The owner of the shop Baburam tied the boy's hands and feet with a cloth, accusing him of taking biscuits from the shop and eating them without paying. The shopkeeper and three others who were with him beat the boy cruelly. No one turned up to help him and were watching this act. The boy was tied to the pole the whole night.


The boy screamed for help but no one came forward. He later untied himself and fled from there. After the video of the incident went viral, the police arrested and took them into custody. The police are in search of the boy who was beaten cruelly. The boy has not been traced yet. The police said the shopkeeper has been interrogated and he will be awarded maximum punishment.


A similar incident had happened in Karnataka's Haveri. The shop owner beat a 10-year-old boy for allegedly stealing sweets. The child subjected to the brutality later died. He was identified as Harishayya of Haveri Uppunashi.

The boy, who had gone to the bakery with his friends, did not return after a long time and when his parents went in search of him, found him detained. The shopkeeper said the boy had stolen sweets and let the boy stay here till he learns manners.


The child's condition worsened when he returned in the evening and was admitted in the hospital. The video of the boy telling the hospital authorities that the shopkeeper tied a big stone on his back and beat him brutally and tried to kill him had gone viral on the social media.
