PATHANAMTHITTA: More details have emerged from the mystery-filled accident that happened last night at Adoor Pattazhimukku. Grama pachayath member Shankar who witnessed the car passing during late night hours revealed about seeing the two fighting inside the car. He also admitted to seeing the door opposite the driver’s side opening and a leg appearing out while the car was travelling at high speed.

The car later rammed into a container in Pattazhimukku which is near to the Kayamkulam-Punalur road. Initially, police wrote it off as a case of accident but witnesses' statements about seeing a ruckus inside the car before the accident, raised the suspicion.

On Thursday night, Anuja (36), a native of Nooranad, and a teacher at Thumpamon GHSS was forcefully brought out from a traveller by her friend Hashim, a bus driver in Charumoodu. Anuja was returning from an excursion along with other teachers of the school. According to police, Hashim blocked the school vehicle and forcefully took Anuja with him in his car. She even introduced Hashim as a relative and left with him from the traveller. Soon after, Anuja called one teacher to inform her that she was safe. However, Anuja’s voice was quivering and this evoked tension within other faculty members.

Police after taking all this evidence have finally concluded that the accident was a planned suicide attempt by Hashim. The teachers who were alongside Anuja and her relatives are not yet ready to disclose further details to the media. Police after checking their phone details confirmed the ‘close relationship’ that existed between them. Both Anuja and Hashim are married.

Police say that Anuja willfully went alongside Hashim in the car but later engaged in a feud inside the vehicle which aggravated the tensions. With the case quickly getting discussed in the media, the postmortem procedure has been now shifted from Adoor Taluk Hospital to Kottayam.
