PATHANAMTHITTA: According to police, both Anuja and Hashim who died in the mysterious Pattazhimukku accident on Thursday night had known each other and were in a close relationship. Anuja (36), a native of Nooranad, was a teacher at Thumpamon GHSS, and Charumoodu native Hashim (35) was a bus driver.
It is also reported that their families recently came to know about the dalliance which led to a feud that dented the relationship. According to police, Hashim blocked the school vehicle and forcefully took Anuja with him in his car. Anuja was returning from a school excursion along with other faculties. Late into the night, the car which they travelled collided with a container, killing them both on the spot. Police now doubt that the accident was a planned one. The teachers who accompanied Anuja said that Hashim forcefully opened the door of the vehicle and took Anuja alongside him. Anuja had earlier informed the teachers about committing suicide, but the faculties underplayed the seriousness of her words.
The police have decided to conduct a detailed investigation after examining the CCTV footage of the incident. The car was destroyed in the accident. The police also found liquor bottles in the car. Both Anuja and Hashim were pulled out by cutting the car to pieces with the help of the fire brigade and locals.
