Luck favors Malayali again; Expat youth wins lakhs in draw

ABU DHABI: An expat Malayali has won UAE’s Big Ticket prize. In the second e-draw of the Abu Dhabi Big Ticket in February, a Malayali has won 50,000 dirhams (approximately more than Rs 11 lakhs). The lucky winner is Nibin K Mathew, an engineer in Abu Dhabi for six years. Nibin bought the ticket along with his 20 friends. 36-year-old Nibin said that he will share the prize money with his friends and that his share will be given to his family.

Apart from Nibin, three more people were eligible for the 50,000-dirham prize in the Big-Ticket draw. The lucky ones are Riyasat Khan of Pakistan, Siva Prasad of Nepal and Gregory Shomir Gomes of Bangladesh.

Riyasat Khan bought the ticket along with his 10 friends. Siva Prasad bought the ticket with 25 friends from his workplace. Siva, who regularly tests his luck, bought the ticket in his own name this time. Gregory bought the ticket with his 14 friends.
