‘It was Vandana's greatest wish’; Suresh Gopi inaugurates prayer hall

ALAPPUZHA: Union Minister Suresh Gopi inaugurated the prayer hall built as part of Dr Vandana Das Memorial Clinic in Thrikkunnapuzha. Vandana’s friends also attended the function. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan will dedicate the clinic to the hometown this evening.

Vandana’s parents established the clinic in her memory. The aim is to provide treatment to the people at low cost. Vandana used to say that she wants a clinic near her grandfather’s house.

'This is the function of fulfilling our daughter’s wish. Suresh Gopi Sir had earlier agreed to come here directly. Came here despite lack of time. He was supposed to reach Delhi today, but he came here because of his attachment to our daughter and love for us. A medical camp is being held tomorrow. Will have the service of Vandana's friends and the doctors of medical college,’ said Vandana’s father Mohandas.

'Her greatest wish was to start a clinic. She used to come here occasionally. It is a rural area. There are super specialty hospitals in big cities. She used to always say that these are the places where the services of me and my friends are needed. That is why the clinic has been set up here by us,' said her mother.
