'I made a mistake'; Vijay Yesudas opens up about divorce

Singer and actor Vijay Yesudas has opened up about his divorce with ex-wife Darshana. Speaking about his divorce in an interview, Vijay said that expectations can often lead to issues in relationships. He also said that one needs time to convince one's parents about the divorce.

"As far as Darshana and I are concerned, we separated on good terms. However, I don't hope that my parents will understand and accept this. For them, this is a painful situation. As someone in the limelight, I cannot conceal the truth. But I've decided not to hurt my parents by saying this," Vijay said.

"Our children, especially our daughter, are now old enough to understand our situation. My daughter is mature enough. She supports both Darshana and me. Our daughter is 15 years old, and our son is 9. He's starting to understand things. I acknowledge that the mistakes were on my part. Hence, it's not easy to discuss the matter with him," he said.

"Some might say, 'You don't need to tell everyone that you're the one who made the mistake.' However, if you don't take responsibility for that mistake, it serves no purpose," Vijay Yesudas added.

Vijay Yesudas and Darshana got married in 2007 in a love marriage. He had previously revealed that they had parted ways. Later, reports emerged suggesting Vijay Yesudas was in a relationship with actress Divya Pillai.
