KOZHIKODE: A charge sheet has been filed in Pantheerankavu native Harsheena’s case where medical forceps were found inside her stomach which led to years of pain and difficulty for the mother of three. The police filed a charge sheet against both doctors and two nurses.

Mancheri Govt. Medical College Dr. C.K. Dr. Ramesan, Kottayam Private Hospital Gynecologist. M. Shahana, Kozhikode Medical College Maternal and Child Care Center staff nurses M. Rahana, and K.G. Manju have been implicated.

The charge sheet was filed in the Kunnamangalam court. Assistant Commissioner K Sudarshan informed that the surgical instrument was stuck in Harsheena's stomach at the Kozhikode Medical College and this became clear during the investigation. The 750-page chargesheet also recorded the statements of 60 witnesses. K Sudarshan said that the MRI report was crucial in the case.

In 2017, it was during Harsheena's third labour surgery that the scissors were found stuck in her stomach. AC Sudarshan said that the charge sheet was filed after the government had permitted to prosecution of the accused.

Harsheena said her fight would bear fruit only when she gets adequate compensation. She also thanked the media for supporting her cause.
