Bid to set ablaze BJP candidate’s house in Chirayinkeezhu, visuals of attackers out

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There was an attempt to set ablaze the house of BJP candidate of Chirayinkeezhu. The incident happened Wednesday morning at 1 am at the house of Tintu G Vijayan of Vayalil House at Puthukkari, 16th ward of Chirayinkeezhu.

Tintu, her parents and children were at home at the time of the incident. The miscreants first set fire on the front door. They then tried to set fire to the house through the window. The inmates woke up hearing a sound outside. They saw two men wearing helmets and raincoats setting fire at the back of the house. When the inmates created a commotion, they fled from the area.

Meantime, the CCTV has captured the visuals of the two. The Chirayinkeezhu police have started an investigation on the complaint of Tintu. She is the BJP candidate of 17th ward in Chirayinkeezha in the local body polls.
