V D Satheesan sworn in as Kerala's Chief Minister in front of massive public gathering

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V D Satheesan has taken oath as the new Chief Minister of Kerala. He was sworn in the name of God. The oath of office was administered to him by Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar. The oath-taking ceremony was held at the venue set up at the Central Stadium in the presence of tens of thousands of people. There was a huge crowd inside and outside the stadium. 21 ministers are also taking oath today.

P K Kunhalikutty, the second in the cabinet and who won with a historic majority and Ramesh Chennithala, the third in the cabinet, took the oath in the name of God. While KPCC president Sunny Joseph took oath in the name of God, K Muraleedharan stood out by taking the oath in English.

The others sworn in as ministers are Mons Joseph, Shibu Baby John, Anoop Jacob, C P John, A P Anil Kumar, N Shamsudeen, P C Vishnunath, Roji M John, Bindu Krishna, M Liju, K M Shaji, P K Basheer, V E Abdul Gafoor, T Siddique, K A Thulasi and O J Janeesh.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Telangana Chief Minister Revand Reddy, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and leaders of allied parties were also present.
