THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Residents in Northern Kerala are advised to brace for potential power disruptions as the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) issued a week-long warning for four districts. According to official sources, partial outages are expected in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod following a major technical failure at the Power Grid Corporation’s 400 kV substation in Kozhikode.

The crisis stems from a faulty transformer at the central facility. The Power Grid Corporation has informed state authorities that the restoration process is complex and is estimated to take at least seven days to complete.

While the KSEB is working to manage the load, consumers in the affected regions are requested to cooperate with the temporary restrictions until the substation returns to full capacity.
