Shikhar Dhawan marries Irish native Sophie Shine in private ceremony

NEW DELHI: Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has married Sophie Shine in a private ceremony held in Delhi on Saturday. Dhawan tied the knot with Irish native Sophie after dating for more than a year. Their engagement had taken place in January. Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal shared the wedding pictures on social media.

Sophie Shine is currently working as a Second Vice President at Northern Trust Corporation in Abu Dhabi. She has also worked as a product consultant and is the head of the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, the cricketer’s charitable organisation. Sophie, who has over three lakh followers on Instagram, had been sharing pictures with Dhawan for a long time. She was seen with him at several cricket matches, but their relationship became public during the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Dhawan began his relationship with Sophie after his divorce from his former wife Aesha Mukerji. He had married Aesha, a kickboxer, in 2012. The couple has an 11-year-old son. Dhawan had earlier alleged that disputes related to assets led to the breakdown of his marriage with Aesha. The court granted their divorce in 2023.
