Seven foreigners fall into estuary after Chinese fishing net collapses in Kochi

KOCHI: An accident happened after a Chinese fishing net collapsed in Fort Kochi. Foreign tourists who had come to see Kochi were fishing with Chinese nets when it collapsed and fell into the backwater. The foreigners then fell into the estuary. Seven met with the accident.

Hearing a noise, the locals rushed to rescue the tourists and brought them ashore. Although no one was seriously injured, their lost their things including bags. Locals said the tourists climbed into it despite warnings that the net's planks were rusted.
