electrocuted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One has been arrested in connection with the incident of a person electrocuted from the trap kept for wild boards at Memala in Vithura. The person was arrested for installing the electric fence. The dead was identified as Selvaraj, a native of Neyyattinkara.

The police arrested Kurian living in the rented house from where the body was found. He was taken into custody earlier and was being questioned. Police have found that the power supply to the fence for the trap was illegal. A case has been registered against him for unintentional homicide. Meantime, there is mystery surrounding Selvaraj's arrival in Vithura. Police said they will also question the neighbours as part of the investigation.

His body was not identified yesterday. He was identified later after a complaint was lodged by his relatives. Relatives term the death as mysterious. An investigation is underway to know how Selvaraj, who left home two days ago to buy a lottery ticket, reached Vithura. Police said they would clarify the matter soon. Selvaraj's body was handed over to his relatives after the post-mortem.
