Thieves now have their eyes on fish; dry fish worth thousands of rupees stolen

KUNNAMKULAM: Dry fish was stolen from a fish store in Chowannur. The theft took place at Chakkara dry fish store opposite Chowannur Arabian Palace. The fish store, owned by Prabhakaran of Kallayi house in Marathamcode, began functioning two weeks ago. The store was closed by around 6:30 pm, last day. The incident came to light as the store was opened at 8 am in the morning.

The store was built using iron, net and pipes. Large fishes, worth around Rs 15,000, kept in the store and Rs 2,000 were lost. Soon a complaint was lodged with the Kunnamkulam police. Following which, a police team, led by Kunnamkulam probation sub inspector Nidhin and civil police officer Anoop, arrived at the spot and took necessary actions.
