KOCHI: Two persons have been arrested for defrauding crores in the name of the Pandalam royal family. Karunakaran from Pandalam and Gopakumar from Eroor were arrested in Kochi. The two were taken into police custody when they tried to surrender as per the directions of the High Court.
The duo had allegedly extorted Rs 6 crore from a Kuwaiti businessman from Odisha on the pretext of cultivating 2,000 acres of land belonging to the Pandalam Palace. It is also alleged that software source code worth crores of rupees was stolen from OS Business Solutions in Kadavanthara with an advance of just Rs 15,000. According to the police, there are similar complaints against them in Kuwait.
