Kerala records 51,570 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, 14 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 51,570 COVID-19 cases on Sunday. Among these, 47,776 persons developed the disease through contact, including 3178 cases without an identified source of infection. 177 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 439 health workers contracted the disease on Sunday.

32,701 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 3,54,595 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 14 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 53,666.

District wise breakup of positive cases:

Ernakulam 9704, Thrissur 7289, Thiruvananthapuram 5746, Kottayam 3889, Kozhikode 3872, Kollam 3836, Palakkad 3412, Alappuzha 2861, Malappuram 2796, Pathanamthitta 2517, Kannur 1976, Idukki 1565, Wayanad 1338, Kasaragod 769.

1,03,366 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
