Police arrest 15-year-old for murdering Malayalee in America

DALLAS: Police arrested a 15-year-old boy for shooting dead Sajan Mathews, a Malayalee and a native of Pathanamthitta, in Dallas. The boy fired shots at Mathews, owner of Victoria’s beauty supply store in Dallas County Mesquite City. He was shot dead during a robbery bid. The incident happened Wednesday afternoon at 1.30 pm at a store in the 1800 block of Galloway Avenue. He barged into the shop and opened fire at Mathews who was in the counter.

Mathews was the son of C P Mathew and Saramma Mathew of Kozhencherry in Pathanamthitta. He reached USA from Kuwait in 2005. He was a member of Dallas Sehion Mar Thoma Church. He leaves behind his wife Mini, a nurse of Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas and two children. Mathews started the beauty store recently along with other Malayalees as partners.
