Popular actress Pravina Deshpande passes away aged 60

MUMBAI: Actress Pravina Deshpande (60), who graced the screens mostly in the Marathi and Hindi film industry, passed away. Pravina was battling cancer for a long time. The funeral was held in Andheri, Mumbai. Pravina had a varied career that included roles in films, television serials, dramas and web series. She was mostly known among audiences for her strong supporting roles.

Pravina’s roles in films like ‘Ready’ starring Salman Khan, Ek Villain starring Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor, and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran with John Abraham were noticed. The actress had carved a niche in acting with performances that reflected emotional depth and silent power. She also became a familiar face on television through popular shows like Ghar Ek Mandir, Kumkum, Karam Apna Apna, and Kulfi Kumar Bajewala.

Lately, Pravina expanded her work into theatre productions and digital projects. She was last seen in the web series Taskaaree starring Emraan Hashmi. Pravina has two children.
