Three government workers and seven crew members on board; aircraft carrying 11 passengers disappears; search intensifies

JAKARTA: A plane carrying 11 passengers from Indonesia has gone missing. The Indonesia Air Transport Company ATR 42-500 aircraft, which was flying from Java island to Sulawesi island, disappeared from radar this afternoon. A massive search is underway for the plane.
The plane was flying from Yogyakarta to Makassar, South Sulawesi. Contact with the plane was lost at 1.17pm local time in the mountainous area of Maros Regency in Marus district, South Sulawesi. There were eight crew members and three officials from the Fisheries Ministry on board.
