Mammootty requests to act again; only for a good story, replies Madhu: Megastar meets his superstar

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: “Sir, is it enough to stay at home like this? Don't you want to act, sir?” asked Mammootty, who arrived at Madhu’s residence in Kannammoola. Madhu replied with a smile. ‘If I get a role that suits my body and age, I will act. Not acting for just a role anymore, I need a good story.’ Madhu acted in the movie ‘One’ at Mammootty’s insistence. Mammootty described Madhu as ‘my superstar’. Madhu's daughter Uma was intrigued when Mammootty said that he had sent a letter to Madhu sir because he was a huge fan. Mammootty revealed the reason for his admiration and the time he met Madhu for the first time.

“Even when Satyan sir and Nazir sir were shining, I liked Madhu sir as someone different from both of them. I met him in person for the first time when he came to our village for the shooting of the film Kattupookkal. The shooting was at a place that could be reached by a boat. My friend and I went to watch the shooting by rowing a boat. For some reason, Madhu sir came to get into my boat, and I, surprised, held his hand and helped him board the boat. He, who was sitting at the helm of the boat, took me along and rowed the boat for a while and then brought the boat to the shore. It was an experience that I could not even imagine at that time. When I came to the film industry, I told all these things to Madhu sir. He laughed and listened to it all just like he is doing now,” said Mammootty.

Madhu inquired about Mammootty’s treatment. "Mammootty is very healthy now. He has to go for checkups occasionally. I'm happy that he came here and saw me," said Madhu.
