'An actress who is former wife of a superstar is not getting works in films, producers avoid casting her thinking it would upset her former husband'; Lakshmi Manchu opens up

There are several star couples in the film industry, and some of them have separated. Now, Telugu actress Lakshmi Manchu has openly said that an actress, who was once married to a superstar, lost several opportunities after her divorce. She was speaking in an interview with a media outlet.

"I know an actress who was married to a superstar who is still active in films. After her divorce, she lost many films that had already been promised to her. Producers avoided casting her, thinking it would upset her former husband. On the other hand, a man who gets divorced never faces such a situation. Nothing really changes in his life, whereas a woman has to suffer all the consequences," Lakshmi said.

She also questioned the way women are often targeted for their dressing.“Questions are always raised about what women wear. But would you ever ask a man the same? You asked me about my outfits as I near 50. Would you ask the same question to Mahesh Babu? Then why only women?” she asked.

Lakshmi Manchu’s new film, Daksha: A Deadly Conspiracy, is set to release on Friday. She made these remarks during the film’s promotional interview.
