'A prominent young political leader approached me in inappropriate way, that child actress is now being attacked on social media'; actress makes revelations
Actress Rini Ann George has said that in Kerala, those who openly express their opinions are often subjected to criticism. Rini, who recently played the female lead in 916 Kunjootan alongside Guinness Pakru, opened up about her experiences in a recent interview with Kaumudy Movies.
She alleged that certain political leaders deliberately prevent talented women leaders from coming to the forefront. Recalling her own unpleasant experiences during her brief stint in politics, the actress revealed how such attitudes continue to sideline capable women.
Rini's words "I've faced unpleasant experiences from a prominent young political leader in Kerala. He had sent me obscene messages and approached me in an inappropriate way. I am not saying this to defame any party. This kind of behaviour exists around us. When we complain about such things, even those who claim to work for women do not take it seriously.
In politics, many hesitate to give women important positions. And even if a woman reaches such a position, she is not allowed to act beyond what male leaders say. As a result, many capable women leaders are still left out. Kerala society is not entirely anti-women, but there are people who do not accept women who boldly share their opinions in public. Just look at child actress Devananda’s case. She is being attacked simply for speaking her mind," Rini said.
