Radhika Yadav's murder; mockery of living off daughter's money upset Deepak, accused earns Rs 17 lakh a month
GURUGRAM: More details have emerged in the case of the female tennis player shot dead by her father. Radhika Yadav (25) was killed. The woman's father, Deepak Yadav, was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident. His gun was also seized.
The statement of the accused has been released. The accused told the police that some people mocked him for living on his daughter's money and that this hurt his pride. The accused has several buildings in Gurugram, including a luxurious farmhouse. He earns up to Rs 17 lakh per month in rent alone.
Radhika was running a tennis academy. Some people had teased Deepak by saying that his daughter was earning her own income. He had told his daughter to close the academy several times because of this, but Radhika refused to comply. Radhika had also posted reels on Instagram as part of the academy's promotion. This also angered Deepak Yadav.
The murder took place yesterday at the house in Sushant Lok Phase 2, Sector 57, Gurugram, Haryana. The accused had shot his daughter five times. However, the neighbour says that Deepak was very fond of his daughter and some personal reason may have led to the murder. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
